I suspect it’s probably so that they can ensure that Vista will actually run well! The requirements for it working well are fairly substantial.
Good point! My desktop is up to date with 3GB of RAM. My laptop, not so much.
There’s also driver support to consider. They can know exactly what’s in these machines and that it’s well-supported; they have no idea what’s in the bloggers’ PCs.
