UPS CEO States “Someone Else Might Have a Different Fresher Approach”

UPS Celebrated Its 100-Year Anniversary recently. In it United Parcel Service, CEO Mike Eskew was quoted as stating the following:

“”At some point you think, we all think, it’s time to let somebody else do this,” said the 58-year-old. “Somebody else might have a different, fresher approach.””

No kidding! I’ve stated previously that UPS is not customer service focused and I’ve advocated major changes in the way UPS does business for a long, long time! If that board of directors ever wants to build an efficient company that package RECEIVERS love, my contact info is on my bio page.

  1. It is taking UPS 13 days to deliver an electric guitar to me from Portland Oregon to Oregon Ohio? I can have a package delivered from the former Yugoslavia (That would be Serbia for those of your working for UPS) WHAT A JOKE UPS IS> somewhat like our loser government

  2. I can have a package delivered form the former Yugoslavia ( Serbia) in less almost half that time it takes UPS to deliver a package from Portland Oregon…. to Oregon Ohio 13 days?

  3. I just noticed a re-schedule of my delivery from Portland. UPS now is taking 14 days to deliver a pcg to Ohio. UPS did not even notify me of another delay. I set up a schedule with my neighbor to pick up the pcg next door on the 5th.UPS did not even notify me of the second delay. Now the pcg will not be here until Jan 7th sent out Dec 23. UPS you truly deserve the logo YOU SUCK. I promise I will spread the news about the long delay in delivery that one should expect from UPS>

  4. UPS is a joke. I had to write seven executive board members just to get a response from them regarding bills we never received from October of 2008. Hello, it’s now April of 2009 – six MONTHS later. Our “rep” didn’t bother to return phone calls or e-mails. EVER. Neither did his boss. They cut off our service twice when we couldn’t pay bills we never got. When I finally had enough and sent out an e-mail to seven of their top execs, I got four phone calls and even a real rep that showed up at my office – within 2 hours. But don’t let that fool you. When you have to go all the way to the top of the ladder just to get a company’s attention, clearly their very last priority is customer service.

  5. I send out packages world wide to customers on there accounts. If the customer doesn’t pay the bill immediately UPS thinks it’s intelligent to send the bill right back to the shipper. (ME) When I don’t pay the bill (which were 3 times what I pay using my broker) they threaten to put my account on hold. Which basically means they won’t pick up or deliver to us. Since I don’t use UPS any longer I tell them “Go ahead put my account on hold” I’ll just tell my customers that UPS isn’t available to pick up there product, to ship via Fed Ex. But the representatives from UPS couldn’t care less. Now they bought EMERY/MENLO, and changed the name to UPS SCS, and brought there mentality over to that organization. Guaranteed next day air, now means (It may get there tomorrow, but if it doesn’t you still have to pay us).

  6. Martha,
Where did you find any contact names to even contact their board members?? I keep getting a bill from UPS for 25,000.00 AND I HAVE NEVER SHIPPED ANYTHING UPS!! Everytime I call their accounting department, they make sympathetic noises, tell me the fraud department will contact me in 24 hours, and then no one ever calls me back. THEN I GET A NEW BILL. What’s wrong with these people? Surely they would want to know when someone is ripping them off and go after them? I feel like I am fighting against some monolithic machine. (Don’t worry, I did file a police report, not that UPS cares).

  7. I can’t get your driver to deliver to my house. He says he cant find it. Its plainly visible on google maps complete with a zoomable photograph. What will it take to get a competant driver to deliver my package. I would go pick it up but its a 3 hour drive. I just want what I paid for!

  8. DON’T FEEL BAD IM AN OUTSIDE MAINTENANCE VENDOR FOR UPS AND CANT GET THEM TO PAY THEIR BILLS. THEY THINK PAYING THEIR BILLS EVERY FOUR OF FIVE WEEKS BEHIND IS OKAY. YET WHEN THEY DO PAY ALL THEY DO IS CATCH UP NOT STAY CURRENT. IVE DECIDED TO FACTOR THEIR INVOICES AND PASS ALONG THE COST OF IT ON TO THEM.

  9. I sent a package containing 3 hand made quilts to my sister in Mira Lomna, California, now this was not a small package they were queensized quilts, it has never arrived, tracking the package found it went 20 miles away from intended address. I am over 70 years old, on a limited income, my sister is oldder than I and recently lost her daughter, has had medical problems and her husband has undergone major surgury, the quilts held personal meaning to us, materials from her daughter, I have ask for an investigation on this but all I get is a run around. I was told to file a claim, yet how do you put a price tag on something hand made for comfort to my sister! I want the quilts found, and delivered as addressed. Someone in UPS knows where those quilts are, lets stop passing the buck and get real, your slogan says you can depend on us, is so wrong it is not funny.

  10. UPS needs to realize who pays their paychecks. It is the people who buy products on line and have them shipped. What it the problem with this company? I can not believe how they treat people. I had a driver say he came to my home and leave a note and he was never hear. I dont know if he just cant read or if he just wanted to go home. I took off work and sat home all day only to not receive my package. Do you think the customer service number was any help? NOPE! What a joke! I think my 9 year old could do better. Im really ticked and I will gripe to everyone until I get the satisfaction I want and deserve. If every consumer did this them this company would change, until then use FEDEX Grd, those guys get paid by the pc and will get your package to you no matter what!
