Wordcamp in San Fran Today!

Wordcamp is today in San Fran. I would go if the airfare to go to the Search Engine Strategies wouldn’t have been double to do so. Bummer. Hopefully Neal Patel will grab my XL tshirt that I had reserved.

I will sadly miss speeches on Blog Promotion and Writing a Compelling Blog, State of the Word, Monetizing your Blog, WordPress Wishlist, SEO & WordPress, Microformats and Structured Blogging - I look forward to seeing detailed reports on all of these.

In Regards to Wordpress Wishlist - I would like to see the following 10 5 items:

1) Simpler remote updating. Like simplemachines.org forums. It takes 5 seconds to update a version. Many blogs are just not on the current version.

2) A simpler, centralized plugin library.

3) Spel chek <

4) Easier customization like adding a column for ads or something as your needs change - not everyone is a web master

5) I'd like all of the funtionality of being hosted on wordpress.org - when I signed up I did not know of these differences and quite frankly it's a disappointment as I want my own domain. I hope you seriously listen to this. To get corporate users to adopt Wordpress this would pretty much be mandatory!

Thank you for listening, I look forward to seeing the fully compiled list!

If you tag this entry “wordcamp” it will be assimilated into tons of other reading about WordCamp and is more likely to get folks’ eyes.
